Licensed Drone Aerial Cinematography
Big Shot Films specialises in high-end aerial cinematography for Films, TV, commercials, documentaries and live broadcasts. Our expert drone teams use only the most advanced UAV technology to produce cinematic footage customised to each project’s vision.
We have collaborated on major International productions, including Marvel Studios' "Kraven the Hunter," "Greenland Migration," "Kandahar," Netflix’s "You Season 4," and "The Witcher." Additionally, we’ve executed global campaigns for renowned brands. Our client list reads like a who’s who of the industry, featuring giants like Porsche, BMW, Coca-Cola, Emirates, Red Bull, Gucci, and Samsung. The list goes on. We’ve also worked with local legends and international crews. One of our proudest moments? Was the lead drone Pilot on Jason Statham’s Latest Action thriller shot in London, Ireland & Scotland in early 2025.
Handheld Gimbal Operators
Our experienced crew consistently thrive on creating the most dynamic and visually compelling shots possible, delivering exceptionally smooth and stable tracking shots, even when working on the most challenging and uneven terrains. Additionally, we offer a specialised dual-operator setup for instances where the Director of Photography prefers to control the gimbal remotely via 3-axis Nodo wheels.
This arrangement allows the gimbal operator to expertly position and manoeuvre the camera with precision, while the DP maintains full focus on achieving exact framing and composition from a remote, stationary vantage point.

The Falcon
Our high-speed chase vehicle is a turbo Subaru Impreza STI AWD with dual custom robotic arms and advanced remote heads like the Freefly Movi XL, Motorcrane Titan, and F. It offers front-to-back repositioning, vertical lift, and real-time control for precise, dynamic tracking.

Remote Stabilised Heads
We offer an extensive range of stabilised remote-controlled camera heads designed to fully meet all of your production requirements. Our selection includes models such as the Freefly Movi XL, Motocrane Titan, Freefly Movi Pro, DJI Ronin 2, and DJI RS4 gimbals. Each system is equipped with precise 3-axis wheels or joystick control, providing smooth and accurate movements.
Additionally, they feature long-range HD video transmission to ensure optimal monitoring during shoots, and all rentals come with the support of a dedicated, experienced technician to assist you throughout your production.

Wesley Green, known as @Cine_Pilot, is a leading drone pilot and aerial cinematographer from South Africa, with nearly 20 years of experience and over 25,000 flights in 18 countries. He is known worldwide for his precise flying, creative aerial shots, and technical skills in film and commercial projects.
As Founder and CEO, Wesley is an expert in global productions, advanced drone technology, and complex aerial setups. He holds licenses in South Africa, the UK, and Europe. He manages everything from custom drone design to leading large aerial teams, with a focus on safety and high-quality cinematic results.
Wesley has worked on major films like Jason Statham’s 2025 thriller, Greenland 2, Marvel’s Kraven the Hunter, Netflix’s You Season 4, and Kandahar. He’s also flown for over 100 top brands, including BMW, Gucci, Porsche, Coca-Cola, Emirates, Red Bull, Rolls-Royce, and Samsung.

Duncan Walker
Specialist Camera Operator, DOP & Gimbal Operator
Duncan Walker is a skilled filmmaker who combines creativity and professionalism in every project. Starting in 2018 with drones, gimbals, and tracking vehicles, he trained closely with Wesley Green, who helped him grow. Duncan has built an impressive portfolio, working on commercials, TV shows, and films across South Africa, Botswana, the UAE, and Saudi Arabia.
He is an experienced camera and gimbal operator, skilled with handheld gimbals, drones, remote heads, and tracking vehicles. Using his skateboarding skills, he operates a gimbal on an Onewheel Electric skateboard, capturing smooth, fast-moving shots up to 25km/h in tight or tricky spaces.
As a rising cinematographer, Duncan is eager to grow creatively. He’s known for being calm, hardworking, and reliable, consistently making a strong impression on set.
Darren Ehlers
FPV Pilot, Drone Pilot, Camera Operator
Daren developed a passion for FPV in 2017. He has been constructing and flying RC helicopters and planes for approximately 10 years, continuously refining his skills through flight, testing, and adjustment.
Daren is highly regarded in South Africa's drone industry for his expertise in drone technology. He is possibly one of the finest minds in the industry, and many leading drone companies rely on him to construct and configure their latest FPV innovations. Additionally, he owns a top FPV drone online store called FPV Fanatics, which caters to both experienced pilots and beginners by providing all necessary equipment for hobbyists or competitive flyers.
Dale Staples

Dale Staples is a skilled freelance operator who started his career as a professional surfer. Having travelled widely, he offers a fresh view by capturing beautiful landscapes through his camera. His love for South Africa grows with every trip, fueling his passion for content creation.

Drone work isn't just about achieving a high-speed dynamic camera language, but more often calls for very measured, precise piloting. Wesley is very skilled across this broad flying spectrum. Many variables make up a shot, and camera work is just one of the elements. Wesley quickly grasps the shot's intention, and I find his flight path repetition to be very accurate, extremely crucial, where you may be adjusting timings or elements within the frame, yet need the camera work to remain consistent. On the other end of the scale, his advanced piloting skills allow for the development of more irreverent, unrehearsed camera work, especially good for car photography and high-speed sequences where things may be variable, and his perception of what is required can result in some dynamic, unexpected shot design.
