Drone Aerial Cinematography
At Big Shot Films, we offer a comprehensive range of aerial cinematography services designed to meet the diverse needs of our clients. From feature films, TV commercials, Documentaries, and live broadcasting projects, our expertise and cutting-edge technology ensure we deliver stunning visuals every time.
All the drones we fly are specifically designed for the best image acquisition and all our teams are trained in the art of cinematography.
Handheld Gimbal Operators
Our experienced crew thrive on creating the most dynamic shots possible, delivering exceptionally smooth tracking shots, even on challenging terrains. We also offer a dual-operator setup in cases where the DP would prefer controlling the gimbal via 3-axis Nodo wheels, allowing the gimbal operator to position the camera accurately while the DP focuses on precise framing from a remote stationary location.
Remote Heads
We offer a variety of stabilized remote-controlled camera heads to meet all of your production needs, including the Movi XL, DJI Ronin 2, Freefly Movi Pro, and DJI RS4 gimbals. All come with 3-axis wheels or joystick control and Long Range HD video transmission.
Tracking Vehicles
Whether it’s a low dynamic tracking shot or a high-speed action-packed film sequence with large cinema cameras running zoom lenses, we have the equipment and experience to take your needs for filming with action vehicles to another level. We make use of two incredible camera tracking vehicles, for small.

Wesley is a highly experienced commercial drone pilot with twenty years of flying experience. As an international drone pilot, he holds commercial UAS/drone licenses in South Africa, the UK, and Europe.
He is known for his precision and adeptness in handling high-pressure situations. For over 10 years, Wesley specialized in building and flying some of the first custom-built RC helicopters designed solely for filming worldwide and was one of the industry pioneers. He has dedicated his entire working career to flying cameras professionally, making him one of the earliest adopters of heavy-lift drones as the first pilot to fly cinema cameras like the Red Epic with Electric and Turbine RC helicopters. He boasts an impeccable safety record across a large range of aircraft types. He is also experienced in running camera-tracking vehicles and operating camera gimbals.

Duncan Walker

Duncan Walker is an accomplished filmmaker with expertise in drones, gimbals, and tracking vehicles. He has worked on TV commercials, series, and feature films across South Africa, Botswana, UAE, and Saudi Arabia. Duncan is known for his calm demeanour, strong work ethic, and reliability on set.

Daren developed a passion for FPV in 2017. He has been constructing and flying RC helicopters and planes for about 10 years and has continuously flown, tested, adjusted, and improved his skills.
Daren is highly regarded in South Africa's drone industry for his drone technical expertise. He is possibly one of the finest minds in the industry, and many leading drone companies rely on him to construct and configure their latest FPV innovations. Additionally, he owns a top FPV drone online store called FPV Fanatics, which caters to both experienced pilots and beginners by providing all necessary equipment for hobbyists or competitive flyers.
